Mrs. Bright: Teacher Extraordinaire by Parent, Karla Akins

As a former homeschool Mom, I was very nervous about my twin sons attending the public high school, but Mrs. Bright has made the transition for my sons extraordinarily smooth.

We often hear a lot about what teachers do wrong in the media, but rarely do we hear of the sacrifices of our teachers. So I'm posting this on the class blog to sing her praises because I don't think she gets enough. (I volunteer in her class as the "blog teacher," helping the students create this blog, which is why I have access to post this.)

Mrs. Bright is a teacher whose heart is with the students. She teaches people -- not curriculum. She puts their needs first and tries to perceive things through their eyes. She wins their heart by respecting them and delighting in their accomplishments.

She is constantly going over and above the call of duty in preparing life skills lessons and activities that the students not only enjoy, but learn from. Whether it's cooking or learning to reconcile a checkbook, Mrs. Bright and her paraprofessionals (I don't know all their names, but they are worthy of mention, too), are constantly on top of the students' needs trying to meet them.

I can't say enough good about Mrs. Bright's Life Skills class and this wonderful, gifted, caring teacher.

Let's give three cheers for Mrs. Bright!

Friendship by Taylor Finch

I have been through ups and downs. But I have two good friends, Kaelin and Chesnie. Chez has helped me through drama, relationships and not but least friendship . Kaelin and I have too much fun she goes to the movies with me baseketball games. We might go to the movies to watch the Woman In Black us three girls thought it was going to be rated R but its apparently its PG13 then we love to hang out a lot we go to the mall we get to have so much fun me and my friends have fun.

A Good Friend by Anonymous

A good friend is someone who does not make you feel inferior. To add to that you must be able to put your trust in them entirely. As if you life is in danger and you must trust to live.

Your good friend must be able to listen and respond to a question or conversation. Willing to keep a secret is true in friendship. They should not insult or use you in any way.

You can't be too picky with choosing a friend. If you say they are friends they should say you are, too!

My Best Friend? By:Jessica McKinney

 My best friend is Katrina because I have been with her from when we were babies. I trust her with all of my secrets because she has never told anyone my secrets. Katrina and I have been there for one another and she doesn’t talk bad about me behind my back and if someone tells her that I’m talking bad about her behind her back she comes up to me and says are you talking bad about me. Me and Katrina have never got in a fight in are 16 years and she never puts me down for how I act and how I dress. She likes to hang out with me all the time. When people are mean to me she tells them to shut up and to leave me alone. She helps me through really hard break ups with other people. She makes me laugh when I’m upset.

A true friend by Kaelin Harting

A true friend is someone that you can trust because they are your best friend. Someone that you can tell them anything and they will not tell anybody any thing.  Also. your best friends is someone that you can talk to when you are having trouble in school or having a  boyfriend problem. They are someone you can trust with anything that you tell them. My best friend makes me laugh when I am feeling left out or I have had a bad day.

Being a good friend isn't about looks, it's about being your self and finding the group friends you fit in with and don't let a boy go between you and your friendship! A best friend, a true friend is someone who you love (as a friend) and can truly can talk about any thing. He or she is like a brother or sister to you who you can trust! Say that this person is a true friend to you and they tell your other friend a lie, now that's not a true friend. I have two friends and one of them as a boyfriend and her friend (and mine) is upset about it. She should at least support her.
